Cd2+ mittels Direct Current Tast Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (DCTASV) bzw.
zunächst erhaltenen konditionalen Komplexstabilitätskonstanten in thermodynamische

Speciation is crucial for mobility and transport of enviromentally relevant substances.
The importance and complexidity of such systems was studied by means of two
differerent examples. The first one concerns investigations of inorganic substances
of natural surface waters, the second one investigations of underground waters from
closed mining activities.
Determining the complexing capacity and stability constants the complexing ability of
humic substances with Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ was studied with the help of direct
current tast anodic stripping voltammetry (DCTASV) and ionselective potentiometry
(ISE, only Cu2+).
Two of three applied theoretical models (Model at the basis of the law of mass and
action, Continuous distributionmodel at the basis of gauss distribution) were able to
transform correctly the conditional complexing stability constants into thermodynamic
ones.
The applied metal ion charge neutralisation model led to stability constants, which
were 10 magnitudes low.
The investigations indicated, that as expected chelat effects play a major role in
complexation processes of humic substances. Complexing capacity and
thermodynamic complexing stability constant are of equal importance for the
assessment of the complexing ability. Thereby the complexing capacity depends on
the proton exchange capacity.
For the first time in underground waters of mines the products of leaching and
weathering processes were characterised in a structural analytical way. The major
role of iron, arsenic and sulfur was seen.
The striking red water “Rotes Wasser” was characterised with the help of diverse
adjusted analytical methods. For element analysis were ICP-MS, ICP-OES and C-,
H-, N-analysis applied. Anion analysis was implemented by ion chromatography.
Structural analysis was carried out by UV-VIS and UF. Typical products of
pyritoxidation followed by products due to leaching were found. Therefore the red
colour was caused by colloids with a high amount of the ironmineral goethit.
Moreover mineralic ironarsenates contribute to transport and final fixation processes
in sediments in the aquatic system of river Mulde.
Generally it was shown in this work, that humic substances and colloids of ironoxihydrates
influence the mobility and transport of heavy metal ions both in underground
waters of mining operations and in natural surface waters.
