Abstract zur Dissertation von Jens Klopp: Resonante Demokratie und Kulturpolitik Welchen Beitrag können Kunst und Kultur in der Rahmung von Kulturpolitik zur Stabilisierung und Entwicklung von Demokratie in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland leisten? Um dieser Frage nachzugehen, werden sowohl Beispiele aus der kulturellen und kulturpolitischen Praxis als auch wissenschaftliche Interpretationen herangezogen. Eine These aus dem Kulturbetrieb lautet: ‚Kulturpolitik ist Gesellschaftspolitik‘ – sie dient bis heute als Kernaussage kulturpolitischer Konzepte. Diese Untersuchung geht daher auch der Frage nach, welche Relevanz Kulturinstitutionen für gesellschaftliche Veränderungen haben und welche Spielräume im Kontext von Ökonomie und Politik bestehen. Das sogenannte ‚Kulturstaatspostulat‘ oder auch ‚Staatsziel Kultur‘ wird auf seine Umsetzungsbedingen hin überprüft, um die Voraussetzungen einer ‚gelingende Kulturpolitik‘ zu ergründen.

Abstract of Jens Klopp's dissertation: Resonant democracy and cultural politics. What contribution can art and culture make to the stabilization and development of democracy in the Federal Republic of Germany within the framework of cultural policy? In order to pursue this question, examples from cultural and cultural-political practice as well as scientific interpretations are used. A thesis from the cultural policy and cultural institutions is: 'Cultural policy is social policy' - it still serves as the core statement of cultural-political concepts. This study therefore also investigates the relevance of cultural institutions for social changes and what scope there is in the context of economics and politics. The so-called 'cultural state postulate' or 'state goal of culture' is examined with regard to its implementation conditions in order to fathom the prerequisites for a 'successful cultural policy'.
