dc.description.abstractCatalytic hydroprocessing is an essential reaction category in the transformation of biomass molecules into a wide array of fuels and chemicals. The objective of this work was to valorize various types of biomass classes into chemicals and fuels using selective hydroprocessing techniques, including hydrogenation of furans derived from cellulose and hemicellulose into alcohols, hydrogenolysis of glycerol derived from oils into 1,2-propanediol (1,2 PD), and reductive catalytic fractionation (RCF) of lignin into phenolic monomers.en
